YOUR TEAM YOUR CHAPLAIN

Care that wins!

A Life Worth Living Team Chaplain supports you and your team of employees in much the same way as a team chaplain does for professional sports teams. Whether it is a sports team or a business team, winning requires each person’s best. A Team Chaplain will not only cheer for you and your team but will also provide the care, comfort, and compassion needed to go through challenges and come out a winner!

A WINNING TEAM

From the inside out

What does a “win” look like for your business?

Imagine your business experiencing stability and growth with a devoted team of employees maximizing their talents and freely investing in the company vision. Whether it is a sports team or a business team, winning requires each person’s best.

In the sports world, a skilled and highly trained athlete also needs to be mentally sharp and spiritually secure. To enable their athletes to reach their potential, winning teams employ the combined expertise of coaches, trainers, and chaplains. Each of these makes important contributions to prepare players for competition and promote their well-being.

From small businesses to corporations, business leaders know a caring environment affects the bottom line. Employees who know they are cared for are likely to care about the success of their company as well as the well-being of their fellow employees.

A Winning Team
Employee Care

TOTAL EMPLOYEE CARE

Behind the Scenes

An Employee Assistance Program is incomplete without the services provided by a trained and experienced chaplain. Additionally, businesses with chaplains experience increased workplace morale and have higher employee retention.

This should come as no surprise. The health care industry has recognized total patient care includes spiritual care.

When a team member is stressed and hurting it is difficult for them to care for their family and work. But when they have a caring chaplain to whom they may turn, they can find comfort, encouragement, meaning, and purpose in life, as well as the strength a relationship with God provides.

Everyone experiences the unexpected. People’s hearts are often broken without warning. Many go to work each day bearing guilt from the past, frustrations from the present, and a sense of hopelessness about the future.

So that your employees may be free to live life to the fullest and reach their potential at home and work, Mark Bordeaux and Life Worth Living Ministries are pleased to offer Team Chaplaincy Ministry.

Why a Team Chaplain?

WHY A TEAM CHAPLAIN?

THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE

We all face unexpected stress and challenges in life. Employees do not have to face hardships alone if they have a chaplain.

THE NEED TO TALK

Everyone needs someone who will genuinely care and listen. Employees may “unload” their burdens without fear of being judged. With the encouragement of their chaplain, they can find hope and focus on their job. A chaplain is a good listener who keeps discussions with employees confidential.

STRESS AT HOME

A caring chaplain helps employees build stronger homes and navigate family crises

THE SEARCH FOR ANSWERS

When someone needs answers to life’s most difficult questions, trained and experienced chaplains are reliable guides to help employees explore the meaning and purpose of life

THE NEED TO BUILD WORKPLACE MORALE

The positive outlook of a caring chaplain is encouraging and contagious!

THE DESIRE TO HELP

Many people may want to help an employee undergoing a crisis but lack the skill, experience, resources and time. A Team Chaplain can help companies design and train care teams to be an extra layer of support for employees.

AVAILABILITY

The Spirit-led compassion, refined by years of experience and training, is within the grasp of any employee at any time through their Team Chaplain.

BUILDING BRIDGES

The chaplain/employee relationship becomes a key part of employee care that offers to bridge a gap between management and employees, and more importantly, between people and God.

The Impact of Caring

What is different about Team Chaplain?

We are a ministry - Our objective is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ through building caring relationships in hopes of helping others choose to follow Christ.

We support the local church - When Life Worth Living was founded the purpose was training Russian pastors and church planters to evangelize, disciple and lead healthy, multiplying churches. Since that time, we have used a Scripture-based multi-pronged strategy in order to join God in His work through churches of all sizes and in various cultures in Russia and the United States. Our efforts to disciple employees always include encouraging them to connect with a local church and a small group.

We partner with others who share the same values and goals - We use the same criteria God uses to consider someone His child as our parameters for whom we consider our brother or sister. We hold essential, non-negotiable convictions based on Scripture and at the same time respect others’ differing views on the non-essentials.

We cooperate rather than compete - It may come as a surprise to know some pastors, ministry leaders, and board members of Christian non-profits operate in competition with other churches and ministries. We have been disappointed to even hear ministry leaders refer to other ministries as “the competition.” We celebrate success that honors Christ wherever it may be found.

We bring many years of training and experience - Nearly 40 years have been devoted to studying and teaching the Scripture while leading believers in a myriad of contexts, cultures, and situations. Like the insurance advertisement, “We know a thing or two because we’ve seen a thing or two” (Farmers). With first-hand experience of walking with people through the most difficult times of life, we are able to relate and empathize with others. With our knowledge of God and His word, we are able to offer wisdom and edify. For more information, please see our vitae.

How Does it Work?

How does it work?

  • First, contact Mark and Life Worth Living Team Chaplaincy to schedule a meeting. You will get to know Mark, the work of Team Chaplain, have your questions answered, and discuss your vision for employee care

  • Once an agreement has been reached between your company and Life Worth Living’s Team Chaplaincy Ministry, an introductory meeting is scheduled with employees, leadership, and Mark

  • At the introductory meeting, the company owner or manager expresses their appreciation for employees and their desire to help them be supported and successful in their jobs. He or she then describes the new level of support provided for employees through LWL’s Team Chaplaincy and introduces Mark Bordeaux.

  • Mark introduces your employees to their Team Chaplain. They will hear about his or her family, calling to ministry, training, background in ministry, and secular work. Then they will overview the chaplain ministry and express his desire to encourage them in the days to come. Finally, Mark and your Team Chaplain will answer questions employees may have

  • Each week, on the agreed-upon day, your Team Chaplain will make rounds. They will attempt to make contact with every employee each week. The length of time for rounds varies depending on the number and needs of employees. If an employee needs to talk, they will make themselves immediately available if possible. If it is not possible to meet immediately, they will seek to schedule a meeting at the soonest possible opportunity

  • Employees will have their Team Chaplain's and Mark’s cell phone numbers and email addresses. If their Team Chaplain is unable to take a call, the employee may leave a message and their call will be returned as soon as possible (Our goal is within 5 minutes)

  • When employees have a serious need, your Team Chaplain will ask the employee for permission to share with their supervisor so the company will be able to support the employee during their difficult time. Once having gained permission to share the need, your Team Chaplain will contact the appropriate person in the company and inform them of the need so they may offer support as well
